Rooftop Waterproofing - Cronulla

Quin Projects was engaged to carry out Remedial Waterproofing works to rectify identified waterproofing failures and deterioration within the existing membrane system. The scope of works comprised the careful demolition and removal of approximately 200m² of the existing waterproofing membrane system, including all associated deteriorated coatings, adhesives, sealants, and contaminated substrate materials where required to achieve a suitable surface preparation standard. The remedial works also included detailed substrate inspection and preparation to ensure compliance with the relevant Australian Standards and manufacturer specifications prior to reinstatement. Preparation activities involved mechanical grinding and cleaning of the substrate, treatment of cracks and defects, rectification of any unsound areas, and the installation of appropriate bond breakers, fillets, and priming systems where necessary. Following substrate remediation, Quin Projects supplied and installed a new compliant waterproofing membrane system designed to provide a durable and watertight barrier suitable for the intended service conditions. The new system was installed strictly in accordance with AS 4654.2 – Waterproofing Membranes for External Above-Ground Use, relevant NCC requirements, and the manufacturer’s technical specifications, including all terminations, upturns, penetrations, joints, and detailing to ensure continuity and long-term waterproofing performance. Associated reinstatement works and quality assurance procedures, including membrane thickness testing, adhesion verification, and flood testing where applicable, were undertaken to confirm the integrity and compliance of the installed waterproofing system.
