Facade Upgrade and Rooftop Waterproofing - Bondi Beach

Over five months, Quin Projects delivered a combined facade upgrade and rooftop waterproofing rebuild on this occupied apartment building a short walk from Bondi Beach. The scope paired an external facade upgrade surface preparation, repair of deteriorated elements and protective coatings with a full rooftop waterproofing replacement, tackling the weathering, cracking and water ingress that come with an ageing building in a demanding coastal environment. On the roof, our team removed the failed membrane and moisture-affected screed back to the concrete substrate, mechanically ground and repaired the slab, then laid a new screed to falls before installing a new high-performance membrane to AS 4654.2, with careful detailing at every upturn, penetration and drainage point. A 25-strong team worked alongside the consultant and strata stakeholders throughout, holding tight quality control and site safety while residents stayed in place. The building was handed back with a modernised, weather-resistant exterior and a rooftop built to keep water out and off the slab for the long term.
